I started through a really rough period right after my last entry, making it extremely difficult to think, let alone write coherently. The disease itself was not the cause of the difficulty but rather some huge problems with a couple of allopathic medicines, specifically as they were prescribed for me by my primary care physician (PCP), and then his refusal to change to a different medication in spite of the severe reactions I was having.
In many ways, I feel like the last six to eight weeks or so weeks are nothing but a blur—lost time when I have little time …

As I pondered my recent experiences that prepare me for my actual transition, I realized that it is, once again, necessary to go backwards (Mercury retrograde again) before going forwards, for the seeds of my current experiences were planted almost two years ago when I underwent an experimental procedure that was supposed to help me breathe better by reducing the volume of non-functioning lung tissue.
I had fully discussed the procedure with Tayo, who of course told me he would be there with me. (While it wasn’t possible in person, his spirit/soul would be in attendance, along with both Sri Yukteswar, …

A friend recently sent me a link to the song and video, “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” from Monty Python’s The Life of Brian, in which the “savior Brian, along with a host of others, is being crucified and one of them bursts into song about the right attitude to adopt in the situation. Monty Python always had a way of taking some of the most difficult (and some of the most sacred) events of life and turning them on their head. Being a Sagittarius (humor), with a good dose of Scorpio (death & dying), I personally …

“A soul in tension that’s learning to fly / Condition grounded but determined to try.” Pink Floyd, Learning to Fly
I love Pink Floyd, and their song, “Learning to Fly,” really captures what I’ve been experiencing and feeling these last few weeks. Poised as I am between the physical and the astral, my soul, my consciousness, is definitely “in tension” as it navigates two realities at the same time, and especially now that a little more of my consciousness is on the astral plane.
”Condition grounded” is exactly what it feels like, from the standpoint of having the cage in one place …

March 15, 2006, brought a life changing event that could only be fully understood some months, and even a couple years, later. Although I knew I was getting older and out of shape, what I didn’t know until I ended up in the emergency room that night unable to breathe, was that I have COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), and in my case that means emphysema. I got “treated” to a four-day hospital stay and sent home to recuperate. When I arrived home I could barely walk five feet without having to stop and catch my …

Our society (U.S.) seems to have a great deal of difficulty dealing with death. We have many euphemistic terms to try to cover up the actual process of the process of dying and the eventual end moment called death, or more specifically death of the physical body. And I believe that we have all these euphemisms because even when we talk about people “going to heaven,” we are still somehow focused on the physical body rather than the essence, the spirit, the SOUL that has resided in and given …
