Both the Bhagavad Gita and Evolutionary Astrology discuss how the Soul creates the ego it needs for each life and how that ego then creates the personality necessary to function within that life. And yet that personality doesn’t remain stagnant throughout one’s life.

In the parable that Chopra threads through his book, Life After Death, spiritual teacher Ramana points this fact out to the about-to-be-widowed Savitri as he introduces her to the “ghosts” of her own past, i.e., her personality at different ages. The point of this knowledge is that death is with us every moment of every day. We experience the …

My friend was full of questions about my transition process, so I’ll continue with  addressing those questions. For those who are familiar with astrology – especially evolutionary astrology – the answers to these questions are pertinent to and reflected in the natal chart, as well as transits and progressions. If you are not familiar with astrology, I think (and hope) the answers will still be clear.
My friend continued his questioning, “I’d be interested in knowing how you feel about the degree to which you completed your soul mission, your reasons for incarnating. To what extent do you feel you left …

Not long ago a friend asked me what it was like to prepare to make the transition from the physical plane to the astral plane, or what some refer to as heaven.

“What does this feel like to you?” he asked. “What are your emotional states about what is beginning? Since you are, via the EA paradigm, in the first stage of the spiritual state of consciousness, and therefore, a “conscious” soul, I’d really like to know what you are feeling as this process progresses.”

He had many more questions, but I thought I’d start with some of the most basic ones …

As I pondered my recent experiences that prepare me for my actual transition, I realized that it is, once again, necessary to go backwards (Mercury retrograde again) before going forwards, for the seeds of my current experiences were planted almost two years ago when I underwent an experimental procedure that was supposed to help me breathe better by reducing the volume of non-functioning lung tissue.

I had fully discussed the procedure with Tayo, who of course told me he would be there with me. (While it wasn’t possible in person, his spirit/soul would be in attendance, along with both Sri Yukteswar, …

A friend recently sent me a link to the song and video, “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” from Monty Python’s The Life of Brian, in which the “savior Brian, along with a host of others, is being crucified and one of them bursts into song about the right attitude to adopt in the situation. Monty Python always had a way of taking some of the most difficult (and some of the most sacred) events of life and turning them on their head. Being a Sagittarius (humor), with a good dose of Scorpio (death & dying), I personally …

“The state you are describing is one of the possible states a soul can go thru in the initial transition and is analogous to a dark cylinder or tube–floating free within it–before the LIGHT is revealed,” responded Tayo yesteday to the description of my recent meditation. Wow, I thought to myself, in a reverie type of way. It was, just as the meditation had been, an other-worldly response to an other-worldly experience-other-worldly in the sense of how that “wow” came into my consciousness in almost a “stunned” way. It moved in softly and crossed the plain of my consciousness like …

In addition to attracting what we need in each given life, we also create different levels of intensity based on what and how much our soul desires to learn, accomplish, and grow. Some lifetimes can be relatively stress free, with occasional intense events, and other lifetimes can be so jam packed with intense and catastrophic events that we wonder how on earth we will even make it through to the end. There’s no right or wrong, no good or bad, no positive or negative to either kind of life; …

For astrologers, Mercury went retrograde-review, redo, recap, rewrite, etc.-today, and I think it’s appropriate here to at least include a brief description of my life that has preceded the current situation and journey. As Wolf (Jeffrey Wolf Green) was fond of pointing out in Pluto School, “Everything has to be considered within the current life circumstances, within the context of the existing life.” So it just makes sense to have some background to pin the current circumstances to.

I’ve had a rather “interesting” and challenging life, but until I studied evolutionary astrology (EA) with Wolf, I didn’t know the reasons behind …
